The value of real estate assets owned by Merlin Properties in the first half of 2020 was roughly 12,800 million euros, which positioned it as the first listed real estate investment company in Spain regarding property value. Colonial ranked second with properties whose value exceeded the amount of 12,100 million euros.

SOCIMIS (listed real estate investment companies) are companies whose main activity is the acquisition, promotion and rehabilitation of urban assets for leasing. They are listed on the regulated market and enjoy a very favorable tax treatment. These listed companies are the result of the adaptation of the European regulations applicable to REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) to the Spanish market.
