Between 1883 and 2023, the national rugby union team for England was awarded the most points from what is now the Six Nations Championship. In those 140 years, England had 1,071 points, which was 34 more than second-placed Wales, who were the only other national team with more than 1,000 points. Meanwhile, the Italian national team, which joined the competition in 2000, had 142 points.

England has two fewer participations in the competition than Wales, Ireland, and Scotland because it was boycotted in 1888 and 1889 by the other teams. France joined the tournament in 1910 and was excluded from 1931 to 1939, but was reinstated in 1947. Italy joined the tournament in 2000.
The calculation is based on three points per win, two points per draw and one point per defeat.
