This graph illustrates the average distance in minutes traveled by the French to use the outpatient care of a psychiatrist in 2010, according to the level of potential localized accessibility (APL). That year, patients living in communities where the PLA is the lowest (level 1), took more than 35 minutes to access a psychiatrist.

* The source adds the following information: "Potential Localized Accessibility (PLA) makes it possible to understand the availability of
supply at the municipal level. It reads like a density by reporting the number
accessible professionals, in full-time equivalent, to the population (for
100 000). This indicator takes into account, on the supply side, the level of activity of professionals in the municipality of residence or neighboring municipalities and, on the demand, the age structure of the population in the professional radius of practice
(see Barlet et al., 2012a for more details). In this work, the APL is studied in four levels: the first level concerns where the APL is the lowest (less than or equal to half the average National); the second level is made up of municipalities with a low APL (between half of the national average and the national average included); the third concernsmunicipalities with high LPA (ie above the national average but below greater than or equal to twice this average); the fourth concerns the communes where the LPA is the highest (more than double the national average)."
