The source wanted to assess the evolution of the number of food stores in France between 2010 and 2019, by type. In 2010, there existed about 1,800 hypermarkets in France, compared to approximatively 2,300 nine years later. Drives experienced a sharp increase in popularity during this period as the number rose from less than 100 in 2010 to more than 3,700 for the year 2019.
