Consumption of paid online editorial content in the U.S. 2017-2019, by gender
In the fourth quarter of 2019, a study in the United States revealed that just nine percent of women paid for online editorial content, down by three percent from the share of women who said the same in 2017. Men were significantly more likely to pay for content like online news, e-papers, and e-magazines, though fewer did so in 2019 than in 2017.
