As of the end of 2021, "Avatar" (2009) remained the highest-grossing foreign movie in the history of Spain's movie theaters, with box office revenue of almost 75 million euros. Another James Cameron film, "Titanic" (1998), followed with nearly 42 million euros, while the 2019 remake of Disney's "The Lion King" ranked third with more than 34 million euros. The three most-viewed foreign movies in Spain ever were "Titanic," "Avatar," and "E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial" (1982).
