Most of the tonnage was transported on vehicles that could support over 20 metric tons of cargo, with figures reaching over 1 billion tons that year. In contrast, vehicles with a load capacity between 18.1 and 20 tons featured the lowest tonnage in 2018, with 28 million metric tons in total.

The data includes all tractors and rigid vehicles or lorries with payload capacity exceeding 3.5 tonnes and having a maximum authorized weight of more than six tonnes which have been used for the transport of goods and registered in Spain.
