Spain: monthly number of mortgages by type 2023

Dwellings and urban land comprised the largest share of mortgage loans constituted in Spain since 2017. In August 2023, approximately 36,000 mortgages were secured on urban land and 43,000 were secured on dwellings. Andalusia was the most active mortgage market in 2022, with more mortgages constituted than any other region.
