As of February 2024, customers of Wise could send money to 74 countries across the world. At the same time, Revolut was available in 38 countries. The Berlin-based N26 operated in 24 countries. Both Revolut and N26 experienced a rapid expansion of customer base in recent years, with Revolut reaching 35 million customers in October 2023.
Bunq bank
The Amsterdam-based app-only bank, Bunq, announced in 2019 that they were expanding to a further 22 countries across Europe, bringing their total number of operations to 30 countries. Bunq has seen far less funding than some other online only banks in Europe.
N26
Berlin-based N26 announced that due to Brexit it would be leaving operation in the United Kingdom. It is also important to remember that for many disruptor banks that only technically operate in a single market is that they are often supported across multiple regions, allowing free withdrawals and payments across the globe.
