This statistic presents the leading types of mobile wallets accessed by mobile wallet users in the United States as of January 2017. During the survey period, 49 percent of respondents indicated that they were enrolled in Apple, Android and/or Samsung Pay.

Pay wallet users are respondents that indicated enrollment in Apple, Android, and/or Samsung Pay.
Merchant wallet users are respondents that indicated enrollment in Starbucks App, Walmart Pay, Dunkin’ Donuts App, and similar, merchant- or retailer-based wallet apps.
Issue wallet users are respondents that indicated enrollment in Chase Pay, Capital One Wallet, Wells Fargo Wallet, Masterpass or similar issuer-based wallet apps.
Non-payment wallet owners were those who indicated that they had a wallet on their mobile device, but did not indicate ownership of a Pays, Issuer, or Merchant Wallet.
