Direct and indirect jobs in the hydropower industry oscillated over the years in the 28 European Union members (EU-28). Between 2015 and 2018, figures increased by 7,300 jobs. In 2016 and 2017, hydropower employment numbers continuously declined, amounting to 70,700 employees as of 2017. In 2018, hydropower industry generated 102,100 full-time equivalent jobs, the highest number recorded in the period of consideration.
