According to the body mass index (BMI) computed by the source with the weight and height of the respondents, nearly six out of ten Brazilian female respondents were considered overweight (BMI≥25kg/m2) in 2023, up from 55 percent of the women surveyed two years earlier. This figure was lower than the share of male respondents who had overweight that year, which attained over 63 percent. As of 2023, the percentage of overweight adults reached around 61.4 percent in the South American country.
