Data in this study shows the gender pay gap in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2020. The 'gender pay gap' is defined as the difference between men's and women's average hourly earnings for full time and part-time workers, as a percentage of men's average hourly earnings. The more equal industry sectors in 2020 consist of water supply, sewerage and waste management,and mining and quarrying sectors. In contrast, the sector with the largest gender pay gap belongs to financial and insurance activities.

Employees on adult rates whose pay for the survey period was unaffected by absence.
Industry sections based on UK Standard Industrial Classification of Economic Activities 2007 (SIC 2007).
Activities of households as employers and extraterritorial organizations are excluded.
Full-time defined as employees working more than 30 paid hours per week (or 25 or more for the teaching professions).
2016 data are provisional.
Figures rounded to one decimal place.
