In the United States, drug discovery companies in the life sciences industry received the highest total value of venture capital (VC) investments in 2023. VC investment in drug discovery companies amounted to over 12 billion U.S. dollars. This was followed by biotechnology companies, which received a total of approximately 6.6 billion U.S. dollars. Therapeutic device companies ranked third, receiving investments amounting to just over 2.3 billion U.S. dollars.
