In the province Noord-Holland, there were 23 independent breweries, and a further 42 companies without their own brewery, which used the brewery of others to produce beer. With a total of 65 breweries, Noord-Holland was the center of beer brewing in this Netherlands in 2015. On the other hand, the provinces Flevoland and Drenth only had five breweries each.
