LGB characters in top-grossing films in the U.S. 2017-2018

A study held in the United States in 2019 revealed that 24 percent of the top films of 2018 had one or more LGB characters, up from 19 percent in the previous year. Whilst more characters were represented in 2018 than in 2017, the climb towards proportionate representation is slow, and 89 out of the top 100 movies in 2018 failed to feature any female LGBT characters.
