According to the study, the municipality where property was most heavily taxed was Portofino, a popular beach holiday destination, where property owners paid on average 3,375 euro per capita in taxes in 2016. The second most expensive municipality was Cortina d'Ampezzo, a fashionable ski resort, followed by Milan and Rome.
