In 2018, a total of 107,020 thousand bank account fraud cases were reported to CIFAS in the UK. Bank account fraud through misuse of facility saw the highest percentage increase of reported cases (13 percent) from 37,732 in 2016 to 51,106 in 2018. Fraud against bank accounts involving identity fraud saw a decrease from 64,174 in 2015 to 45,528 cases in 2018.
