This statistic shows the number of fraud cases that were reported to Cifas from 2015 to 2018 in the United Kingdom (UK) by product type used. In 2018, over 321.6 thousand fraudalend cases were reported to CIFAS. The highest share was bank account cases, amounting to appproximately 107 thousand, or one third of the cases. Nevertheless, bank account frauds decreased during the observation period. In contrast, plastic card crimes have become more common, from almost 73 thousand cases in 2015 to nearly 93 thousand cases in 2018.
