Adults aged between 16 and 24 were the most likely to become victims of computer misuse fraud with 3.5 percent. Adults in England and Wales who are aged 75 years and above are the least likely to fall prey to bank fraud with 0.9 percent.

The source adds the following information: "This represents incidents where an amount of money or cash had been stolen or taken as a direct result of fraud, regardless of any later reimbursement, or any additional charges or costs incurred (e.g. bank charges, repair costs, replacement costs etc). Incidents of computer misuse are therefore not included in the analysis."
*Computer misuse includes unauthorized access to personal information, hacking and computer viruses.
