Volume market share of domestic parcel transport companies in Netherlands 2016-2020
PostNL, a mail and parcel company providing delivery in the Netherlands, saw its volume market share decrease to 60 percent in 2020. It is the leading parcel transporter domestically. The German company DHL held a volume market share of 35 percent in that same year. Similar results are observed in the revenue market share of domestic parcel transport in the Netherlands. PostNL and DHL held a 65 and 30 percent market share respectively, whereas DPD and GLS had both a share of ten percent and five percent, respectively.

The revenue of the parcel industry in the Netherlands grew annually between 2012 and 2020, amounting to 3.6 billion euros in 2020. Outbound parcel revenue also saw an annual increase in this period. In terms of the total volume of the parcel industry, domestic parcels delivered increased to 524.5 million units in 2020, whereas outbound parcels reached 253.5 million units.
