The largest provider of TV transmission in Norway from 2016 to 2020, by market share, was Telenor with 26.5 percent market share in 2020, which was a significant decrease from 42.6 percent in 2019. This is due to the merger of Telenor's brand Canal Digital and ViaSat in early 2020 that formed Allente. As of 2020, Allente obtained 17.2 percent of the Norwegian market.
