Insurance and mortgage fraud are by far the most heavily affected areas for fraud. Insurance is estimated to lose 2,896 million British pounds a year through fraud and mortgage fraud losing 1,583 million British pounds. The financial sector that is hit the least is motor finance with an estimated 11 million British pounds lost to fraud.
