Services used for music streaming in Norway 2022
A survey from 2022 found that YouTube and Spotify were by far the most popular music services among Norwegians. They reached 66 and 65 percent respectively, as this survey included both video music streaming as well. Streaming music through the social media platform Facebook came third.
What type of access do Norwegians prefer?
According to the survey, over half of the Norwegian population had subscriptions or bundles to digital music services. Therefore, paying for streaming music was the most preferred type of access in 2022. Freely available or trial versions of music platforms were popular among 37 percent of respondents.
How much do Norwegians stream music?
In 2020, more than 50 percent of individuals interviewed in Norway streamed or downloaded music the same amount as the previous year. Almost one quarter of respondents even indicated to have used online music services more. In total, 57 percent of Norwegians streamed or downloaded music on a weekly basis.
