Long-term oil import dependency outlook in the UK 2022-2050
The United Kingdom's dependency on imported oil is anticipated to rise from 2022 onwards, reaching 52 percent by 2050. In the mid-term import dependency is forecast to initially decline as overall oil demand will fall in line with the country's net zero efforts. However, it is expected that the decrease in domestic production will lead to greater import dependency in the future.
