In fiscal year 2020, the growth rate of the do-it-yourself retail market in Japan showed a decade high, with retail sales increasing by seven percent compared to the previous year. The market was forecast to decline by 2.5 percent again in the following fiscal year, but retail sales were expected to remain above 400 billion Japanese yen.
