This statistic shows the share of home sales made up by flips in the United States from 2000 to 2016. In 2016, 6.1 percent of all home sales in the U.S. were flips. House flipping is a real estate term which refers to the practice of an investor buying property with the aim of reselling them for a profit. The investor either invests capital into each respective property in the form of renovations or simply resells the properties if home prices are on the rise.
