Benefits and pitfalls of contactless payment in the United Kingdom (UK) 2016

This statistic shows the results of a survey in which respondents in the United Kingdom (UK) were asked if they agreed to statements about the perceived benefits and pitfalls of using contactless payment in 2016. Of respondents 90 percent either 'agreed' or 'strongly agreed' that the fact that they did not have to enter their PIN in the presence of others was a benefit of using contactless payment. 53 percent also agreed that there was a risk that someone could steal their information. Trust seems to be an issue with those who have not yet used contactless payment. A 2016 gender survey found that 35 percent of men did not use contactless payment because they did not trust it.
