This statistic illustrates the results of a survey carried out in Brazil in April 2017 to find out which were the general public’s preferences regarding the "Internet of Things" (electronic devices connected to the internet and often inter-connected). When asked which connected devices and apps they would be in favor of using, 92 percent of respondents answered that they supported the use of an emergency button in their smartphones or smartwatches to tell the police their location in case of emergency.

"Internet of Things" (IoT) refers to machines, devices, sensors, cars, cameras, appliances and other items that are connected to the Internet and often to each other. Examples of connected devices include: Smart TVs, smartwatches, GPS navigation devices, electronic toll collection devices and wireless fitness trackers.
