The total number of point of sale (POS) terminals in Slovenia fluctuated significantly between 2000-2023. A total of over 42.5 thousand terminals was reached by 2023. Addditionally, this was the largest number of point of sale terminals during this period. Cash payments still accounted for over half of all payment transactions in Slovenia in 2019 (63 percent).
