At that time, of those respondents who used unsanctioned group chat applications, 76 percent said they used Skype. Respondents indicated that their preference for chat applications was influenced by the apps' ease of use and how much fun they were to use.

* Of the 600 workers initially surveyed, 47.8 percent (approximately 287 respondents) said that they used group chat tools to communicate with coworkers. Of those 47.8 percent, 76.8 percent (approximately 220 respondents) admitted to using unsanctioned group chat apps always, often, or sometimes.
