According to a survey of video game companies in Spain, only 29 percent of all companies in the video game sector benefited from any kind of public subsidy from the Spanish government in 2021. The number of firms that received public aid from the government decreased gradually over time, accounting for only 23 percent of all enterprises in 2017 at its lowest but with a small improvement in the following years.
