The Canary Islands were the autonomous community in Spain with the largest number of people employed in the hotel industry in 2020, registering an annual average of more than 20 thousand workers. Andalusia and Catalonia followed, with a combined number of employees of 27.6 thousand. These were the most visited Spanish regions by international tourists in that year.
