This timeline shows the average gross monthly yields on treasury bonds (BTPs) issued by public administrations in Italy from January 2016 to June 2022. During the period of consideration, positive returns on BTPs were reported except in March 2021. However, there were sizeable fluctuations in the average yields throughout the months. Indeed, the average gross yields reached an all-time low in March 2021 (-0.07 percent) and peaked in November 2018 at 2.89 percent.
