In 2011, an estimated 3.5 million canister vacuum cleaners were sold in France. In the following years, sales of canister vacuum cleaners have constantly decreased. In the last year covered, approximately 2,2 million canister vacuum cleaners were sold in France, which corresponds to roughly one million units less than ten years ago. Canister models of vacuums cleaner have a motor and dust collector in a separate unit mounted on wheels.
