This statistic shows an estimate of the greenhouse gas emissions from livestock worldwide in 2017, broken down by species. As of this time, pigs contributed about 820 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. Pigs, poultry, buffaloes, and small ruminants account for about 7 to 11 percent of the livestock sector's emissions.
