Nearly half of the bicycles produced in Italy in 2019 were for children, while mountain bikes and city and trekking bikes accounted for 22 percent and 21 percent of the production volume, respectively. The remaining 12 percent of Italian production was divided among racing bikes, e-bikes and other bikes.
In 2019, Italy produced a total of some 2.6 million regular bicycles (all bicycles excluding e-bikes) and 213,000 e-bikes.
