Wind power share of the German energy mix 2005-2023
In 2023, onshore and offshore wind energy contributed a combined 27.6 percent to the German energy mix, more than half of the rest of renewable sources combined. All renewable sources combined accounted for 53 percent of the total energy mix in Germany. The contribution of wind power to the German energy mix presented a trend of growth over the years in consideration. Offshore wind power started contributing to the energy mix from 2013 onwards, but made up a significantly smaller share than onshore wind power.
