In 2023, nuclear gross electricity generation in Germany amounted to only 7.2 terawatt-hours, approximately five times less than the nuclear power produced the year before. In the period of consideration, figures declined from a peak of 167 terawatt hours in 2006. In 2023, nuclear power accounted for just 1.4 percent of the electricity mix in Germany. In April 2023, Germany exited nuclear power, by shutting down the last three nuclear reactors in the country.
