The share of total labor force working for the armed forces in Singapore saw no significant changes in 2020 in comparison to the previous year 2019 and remained at around 1.68 percent. Nevertheless, this was the first time during the observed period that the share increased in Singapore. Armed forces personnel are active duty military personnel, including paramilitary forces if the training, organization, equipment, and control suggest they may be used to support or replace regular military forces. This indicator is presented as a share of the labor force, which consists of all people who meet the International Labour Organization's definition of the economically active population.
