A direct bank (sometimes called a branchless bank or an internet-only bank) is a bank without any branch network that offers its services remotely via online banking and phone banking, as well as may also provide ATM transactions access. In that time, the leading bank in terms of client numbers was ING-DiBa, with 8.75 million customers.
