In 2023, the share of children aged 12-23 months immunized against diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus (DPT) in Laos increased by four percentage points (+5 percent) compared to 2022. In total, the share of children amounted to 84 percent in 2023. Child immunization, DPT, measures the percentage of children ages 12 to 23 months who received DPT vaccinations before 12 months or at any time before the survey. A child is considered adequately immunized against diphtheria, pertussis (or whooping cough), and tetanus (DPT) after receiving three doses of vaccine.
