In 2019, Dutch buyers made most of their foreign M&A deals with German targets. Dutch investors tend to look less at deals in, for example, France. Between 2006 and 2016, the total value of M&A deals in the Netherlands increased from approximately 36 billion euros in 2009 to approximately 84 billion euros in 2016. High profile M&A transactions in the Netherlands in 2016 included the acquisition of the semiconductor producing NXP by US competitor Qualcomm, NN Group's takeover of Delta Lloyd and the fusion of Ziggo with Vodafone Nederland.
