Average price of illicit drugs in Norway 2017, by drug

In Norway in 2017 a gram of cannabis resin, usually known as hash, could be bought for a price as low as 15 cents (euros) per gram. It was the one of illicit drugs in Norway that could be bought for the lowest price per gram, but it could also cost up to 35 euros per gram. Cannabis herb was a bit more expensive and could be bought cheapest for 58 cents (euros) per gram, and up to a maximum price of almost 65 euros per gram. According to another source the price per gram of cannabis in 2018, unspecified which type, was 19.14 US dollars in the Norwegian capital Oslo.

Cannabis use in Norway

   So how common is cannabis use in Norway? According to data from 2017, the use among young adults, from 16 to 34 years, was more common among men than among women. Almost 14 percent of young men consumed cannabis while only six percent of young women did so. The consumption was also more common among younger than older people in Norway: 12 percent of 15 to 24 years old’s used cannabis in 2017, whereas only one percent of the age group 55 to 64 years did so.

The most expensive illicit drug

   Compared to the maximum price of 35 euros for a gram of hash, a gram of cocaine in Norway in 2017 could be bought for up to 350 euros. It could also, however, be bought for as little as 2.11 euros per gram. The use of cocaine in Norway in 2017 was way less common among young adults than the use of cannabis. 2.7 percent of young men from 16 to 34 years, and 1.5 percent of young women used cocaine in 2017.
