The transaction fee of a transaction involving Bitcoin slowly increased during April 2024, as trading volume grew right before the Bitcoin halving. The fee of 15 USD, however, was still in stark contract to the first wave of public interest in the cryptocurrency, when the fee per transaction was over 50 U.S. dollars. Regardless, the Bitcoin trading volume in the United States was bigger in 2017 than it was during 2020.
