This statistic shows the amount of wind energy capacity installed in Europe during the first half of 2017, in megawatts. 4775 megawatts of onshore wind capacity was installed during this time, and 1344 megawatts of offshore wind energy capacity was installed.
Offshore wind energy remains an important feature of the wind energy market for in Europe. At the end of 2016, Siemens Wind Power was by far the largest manufacturer of these turbines, well ahead of MHI Vestos Offshore Wind.
