This statistic illustrates the distribution of the sales of Italian fruits and vegetables with either a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) or a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) certification in 2018, broken down by sale channel. Over the survey period, over half of Italian PDO or PGI fruits and vegetables was sold via large retail (55.2 percent), while only 7.6 percent was sold via traditional retail.
