The area cultivated with vines in Brazil has been on a mostly downward trend since 2014. In 2020, Brazil's vineyard surface area amounted to 80 thousand hectares, one thousand hectares lower than in the previous year. In comparison to 2014, the vineyard surface area in the South American country decreased by around ten percent. By 2022, the vineyard surface area had grown one again to 81 thousand hectares. Brazil is the Latin American country with the third largest vineyard surface area, after Argentina and Chile.
