Testing focused on the two-step authentication at login, as well as features relating to navigation and logout, encryption and account management - such as new payees, transferring money, as well as changing personal details as part of identity management. The average scores were ranked, and First Direct was ranked first as the safest bank offering online banking service, with 78 percent average score. HSBC online banking offer followed, with a 76 percent score.
