The statistic shows the number of provinces in 2015 in Italy, by region. According to the figure, as of December 31, 2105 there were eleven provinces in the region of Lombardy, namely Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Cremona, Lecco, Lodi, Mantua, Monza and Brianza, Pavia, Sondrio and Varese. After 2014, Milan (and other nine previous provinces) count as metropolitan cities and not anymore as provinces.
